TEDxYouth@CapeTown is the space/platform for pioneering youth voices in Cape Town. TEDxYouth@CapeTown primarily aims to reach young people between the ages of 14 – 35 years, including people who care about the issues of young people, via their live events.

The Brief:

The 3rd year marketing students at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology are tasked to create a marketing strategy for TEDxYouth@CapeTown including an audience analysis.

TEDxYouth@CapeTown’s aim is to learn more about their audience and how to efficiently communicate their brand and the ideas of the TEDxYouth@CapeTown speakers. The students are also tasked with constructing a basic brand bible that will guide TEDxYouth@CapeTown to visually articulate their brand messaging, and stand out from the other TEDx events.

Brief Deliverables:

  • Provide a strategic marketing document (includes market research/ audience analysis).
  • Provide a basic brand bible that differentiates TEDxYouth@CapeTown from other TEDx events.
  • Convey TEDxYouth@CapeTown as a sub-department of TEDxCapeTown (“We are the Coke Zero to TEDxCapeTown’s Coca-Cola”)
  • Provide a conceptual digital marketing campaign that can be replicated or adapted to any time of the year.
